  WEEKLY SEMINARS / LECTURES

 

Weekly Seminars/Lectures are organized to serve the purpose of general knowledge acquisition and to boost the academic content of the regular subjects. This programme features guest lecturers as well as the college teachers.

 

EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Extra-curricular activities are very important to the development of the total child. That is why at Pacific we insist that each pupil must  belong to at least two clubs within a session.    The clubs include:
Music, Drama, Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Red Cross, Girls Guide, Boys Brigage, Boys Scout, Yoruba Cultural Group, Igbo Cultural group, Choreography etc.



COUNSELING SERVICES & CONFIDENCE BUILDING
Apart from the guidance and counseling services offered by the counseling unit of the college, each student is also allocated to a teacher who serves as his/her mentor and monitors his/her school work with a view of reporting deviations from agreed targets. This helps the students to build or restore self confidence.



SPORTS AND GAMES
Although our number one priority is learning, it is not all work, work, work. Our on - campus sports facilities caters for our students sporting needs. Within the campus there is ample opportunity to develop your potentials in football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis
as well as field and track events. The school has shown a lot of leadership in sports in the Local trophy for male and female for two consecutive years .

School inter-house sports activities are held bi-annually and pupils have opportunity to show-case their talents

The College has won the trophy for the Alimoso Local Government Private Schools football tournament for two consecutive years, both for boys and girls.

CLUBS AND SOCIETIES
Students must belong to at least two of the following clubs per session. The objective is to inculcate leadership training in the students. At present the following clubs are available:

MUSICAL CLUB
The College has a full band which allows students who are so gifted to showcase their talents. Students in the music club has opportunity to learn and play the following musical instruments and more:

  • Saxophone (altosax, Suprano Sax)

  • Trumpets Drums (Jazz)

  • Thrombone Key board (Piano)

  • Jazz set Clarinet

  • Flute Guitar

  • Drums (Conga) Horns etc


     

TERMLY EXCURSIONS
Travelling is part of Education and a very effective way of learning about other people and their culture. The school engages in termly excursions to promote and create both national and international consciousness in our students.

Some of the several places visited so far include historical places in Ghana & Benin Republic, Abuja, Ikogosi warm spring, Aladja steel rolling mills, Ajaokuta steel complex, Osogbo machine tools industry, University of Ife Zoo, Opa Oranmiyan at Ife, Trans Amusement Park Ibadan, French Village Badagry, Kainji Dam etc.

PREP FOR ALL BOARDERS
To ensure that all boarders utilize their time productively and to excel academically, they all have supervised prep both in the evening and the night. The day preps are supervised by school teachers on duty for the week while the night preps are supervised by the Hostel Master/Mistress, the hostel admin officers.




PREP FOR DAY STUDENTS
To inculcate the reading habit in all students, the college organizes supervised reading for all students for two days of the week namely Tuesdays and Thursdays .



COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
In order to bring up our pupils to be ultimate leaders in their community and the nation at large, the school gets involved in community development. The students get together once a team to help our community in some arrears of critical need.

LINKAGE SERVICES
The school provides links to higher Institutions both local and international for students for progression to higher education. Counseling and career talks are organized to assist students to choose careers they can realize with utmost ease


CULTURAL STUDIES
Students are exposed to various aspect of Nigerian culture through making of Arts and Crafts under the supervision of the Arts Teacher, Arts exhibition and dance drama are held annually to showcase students talents.

LEADERSHIP TRAINING
The College partners with relevant institutions for leadership training for its students at Junior & Senior levels.
